What XAMPP stands for?
XAMPP stands for or is a short form of X stands for (is a cross, it means it is a cross-platform package), A stands for (Apache Server), M stands for (Mysql), P is for (PHP) and the last P is for (Perl).
What is XAMPP?
XAMPP is a cross-platform, open source and a free web server solution or package for development. XAMPP provides a complete development environment with its installation. XAMPP is used by the developers for the development purposes but not for the production purposes. It has a complete package for a developer to start developing in PHP and Perl with Mysql database. It installs and configures by itself.

How to install XAMPP on Windows?
First of all you have to go to the apachefriends.org to download the .exe file of XAMPP package. When you will go to the site click the download button in the menu. A window will appear asking you to save or cancel the installer.exe click “save file” button.
After you downloaded the installer run the XAMPP installer.exe from your computer.
Select your language in the installer language window and click “OK”, if it appears in front of you.
Then the installer may ask you to avoid installing the package to C:Programs, click “OK” in this situation.
The XAMPP installer may start the Welcome to the XAMPP wizard, in this situation click the next button.
After the wizard window the installer may ask you to “choose install location” for the package. It will be set to c:xampp by default and you should choose this, if not, then click next.
The installer will take a little time and will complete the installation in the process.
In the end it will show you the “Completing the XAMPP version Setup Wizard” window click “Finish”.
Next click “OK” button on the congratulation prompt.
Now restart your computer to let XAMPP run properly on your computer.
The XAMPP Control Panel window will appear in front of you.
The windows Security Alert may come at the stage uncheck the last checkbox and click “Allow Access”.
