Choose Browse my computer for driver software when the update dialog pops up.

Now click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer at the bottom of this window.

Go to Device Manager and right click USB Serial Bus Controllers and select Uninstall for everyone. Try uninstalling the devices which are not working or having exclamation mark etc. with them. Restart the computer to see the effect and again be careful doing this.

Now when the Device Manger loads with command prompt in windows just click on the view tab and choose Show Hidden Devices.

Once Device Manager loads, you need to click on View and then click on Show Hidden Devices.

Expand Unknown Devices, Imaging Devices and Universal Serial Bus Controllers and watch out the grayed out or unknown device and right click to uninstall the device. This will hopefully help get rid of USB device not recognized in Windows.
