Brief History of HTML5
The use of World Wide Web is growing day by day with a very rapid speed. So the tools and the contents used on the internet are get fame as well. The web pages and websites are used to view information on the internet and these are made by using HTML. HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language.
The first HTML specification was published on 24 November 1995 and was named HTML 2.0. After the first HTML 3.2 was published on January 14 1997 as a W3C recommendation. It was the first standardized version which was developed exclusively by the W3C. HTML 4.0 was the next W3C Recommendation and was published on December 18, 1997 with three variations Strict, Transitional and Frameset. It would be another 17 years previous to the present HTML5 standard was published in October of 2014.
HTML 4.01 was published on December 24, 1999 as a W3C recommendation. HTML5 was published on October 28, 2014 as a W3C Recommendation. HTML 5.1 was published on November 1, 2016 as a W3C Recommendation.
Over the years the browsers are making their own changes of HTML. Many of the changes are taken from the W3C recommendations and the other changes are specific to every browser. There are many differences in HTML behaviors in different browsers still after the W3C standards and cross browser compatibility is one of the big issue that every developer has to face using different browsers.
