So how did I finally fix the problem? Well, if you are lucky, it’s a super simple solution! Try this method first and if it works, you’ll have saved a lot of time.

Just simply unplug your computer from the power supply and you are done. Keep in mind that just turning off your computer with the power button is not sufficient as most of modern computers don’t get powered off with just turning off with the power button and the motherboard still gets the power. This feature in useful and used when you want to access the computer remotely to wake up.
The USB and all other hardware of a PC are plugged into the motherboard of a computer so the motherboard, sometimes, need to reboot to function properly when a USB device malfunctioned or sometimes a USB ports stops working suddenly. This will allow the microprocessor to reload the drivers again on the motherboard and hopefully the problem of “USB device not recognized code 43” will be solved.
Now Shut Down the PC with the shut down option in Windows or press the power button and unplug the PC.

Now click on the Power Management tab in the opened window. After this click on the checkbox “Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power” to uncheck it and click OK. Repeat this process if you have more than one USB Root HUB listed in your PC.
Restart the computer after clicking the OK button as it will fix the problem. If it does not work then you need to do the same process for the other ones as well.

Select the problem manually to fix it or let it select automatically and then fix the problem after selecting.

Another method can work if you are getting Unknown Device error in the Device Manager on your computer. Just open up the Device Manager and click to expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
Now click on the Generic USB Hub item on your screen. The amount may differ on your computers just right click on the first one and choose Update Driver Software from the window.
Choose Browse my computer for driver software when the update dialog pops up.
Now click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer at the bottom of this window.
Select the Generic USB hub from the list appearing and click next and then close the window. It will refresh the Device Manager screen and hopefully you unknown device problem will be solved if not then repeat the procedure for all Generic USB Hubs listed there.
- Uninstall USB Devices Method 7
This method should be followed very carefully because it can leave you having no USB port working at all if it does not work fine. In this method you will be uninstalling all the USB serial bus controllers in your computer.
Go to Device Manager and right click USB Serial Bus Controllers and select Uninstall for everyone. Try uninstalling the devices which are not working or having exclamation mark etc. with them. Restart the computer to see the effect and again be careful doing this.
- Uninstall Hidden Devices Method 8
You can solve this problem; just uninstall the hidden devices connected to your computer. The hidden or ghost USB devices can cause different conflicts with your USB devices. Use the following commands in your command prompt to view the hidden files.
Now when the Device Manger loads with command prompt in windows just click on the view tab and choose Show Hidden Devices.
Once Device Manager loads, you need to click on View and then click on Show Hidden Devices.
Expand Unknown Devices, Imaging Devices and Universal Serial Bus Controllers and watch out the grayed out or unknown device and right click to uninstall the device. This will hopefully help get rid of USB device not recognized in Windows.
